Grants and Financial Support
Some students may face financial difficulties during their time at college and we have a number of assistance schemes in place to support registered students.
The schemes are designed to help those in severe financial difficulties and require additional financial support to continue their third-level studies. This funding is available to full-time registered TU Dublin students and cannot be used for the purposes of registration or tuition fees.
SUSI - Student Universal Support Ireland
SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland) is the single national Awarding Authority for all new student grant applications. You do not need to have an offer of a place at TU Dublin in order to commence and application with SUSI and we recommend you start your application as early as possible.
You can check out the SUSI website for full detail, we also recommend you follow SUSI on social media for regular updates.
Student Assistance Fund
The Student Assistance Fund provides financial support to fulltime students who are experiencing financial difficulties while attending college. Students can apply for the Student Assistance Fund to help with either temporary or ongoing financial difficulties. The Student Assistance Fund is designed to provide a source of financial support in addition to a SUSI Grant.
Fund for Students with Disabilities
The purpose of the Fund for Students with Disabilities (FSD) is to assist higher education institutions in ensuring students with disabilities have the necessary assistance and equipment to enable them access, fully participate in and successfully complete their chosen course of study. Eligible students can receive assistance from higher certificate to doctoral level during any year of study.
If you face financial difficulties during your time at college, we have a number of assistance schemes in place. These schemes are co-funded by the Irish Government and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning 2014-2020.
