A 'How to' guide for mathematics

We are looking forward to welcoming people interested in improving their maths skills. This Guide is aimed at people who want to become adult learners in TU Dublin.

This short course revises and consolidates key basic mathematical topics to help students prior to entry, meet the standards required for programmes which contain mathematics.

  • Do you want a quick refresher of the basics of mathematics?

Content:

The course will provide you with opportunities to cover the following topics:

  • Calculate and simplify numerical expressions such as fractions, decimals, percentages, etc.
  • Rules of Arithmetic
  • How to calculate indices and the rules of indices.
  • Manipulate and solve simple algebraic expressions and equations.
  • How to study maths and how to use a calculator.
  • How to use online resources, such as Khan Academy.

Location and Dates:

Tallaght campus 22nd - 24th May
Grangegorman campus 29th - 31st May
Blanchardstown campus 6th - 8th June

Times: 9.30am to 2pm each day.
