What is charitable tax relief?
TU Dublin Foundation is eligible to reclaim the tax paid on donations of €250 or more received from Irish taxpayers in any year. This means that your donation can have an even greater impact at TU Dublin.
All donations over €250 per year from individuals (PAYE and self-assessed) will be treated the same, and the tax relief in all cases is repaid to the charity. This can involve one donation or multiple donations that add up to €250 or above.
Tax relief is at a blended rate of 31% to all taxpayers, regardless of their marginal rate. Our donors are required to supply us with some details and we do the rest. An annual limit of €1m per individual, which can be tax-relieved under the scheme, has been introduced.
A company can claim a deduction for a donation to TU Dublin Foundation as if it were a trading expense. TU Dublin Foundation is an eligible charity and will issue a receipt.
Donations can also be made in other ways, for example, we use RoboDK for simulation and offline programming of Industrial Robots.
