Application of Data in Sport, Guest Lecture with Kurt Pittman
ABOUT THE COLLABORATOR
Kurt has a wealth of experience in sports marketing and commercialisation, and is interested in guest lecturing. He is currently the Founder and CEO of the esports company Nativz Gaming and was previously with Fulham FC in the Premier League before joining Brentford FC as Sales & Marketing Director.
THE COLLABORATION
Kurt joined the The Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Analytics and Technology as a guest lecturer.
The Diploma represents a pioneering program in Ireland's growing SportsTech sector. The programme addresses key challenges facing the sports industry through three core pillars: digital transformation in the business of sport, sports data for performance & innovation, and application of sports technology in sports businesses and organisations.
We looked at the application of data in sport from a commercial perspective, unlocking this across three relevant case studies - Fulham FC, Brentford FC and Shamrock Rovers. The session focused in on data strategy considerations needed to prepare for stadium development projects which each club has faced.
