Women in Technology United (WITU)

Women in Technology United (WITU)

Aims and Objectives:

A group called Women in Technology United (WITU), consisting of staff across all the TU Dublin campuses, has come together with the aim to:

  • Retain students in technology courses
  • Increase gender diversity in technology courses

...in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to create pathways for all. This network aims to be inclusive of all gender minority groups.

We wish to achieve these aims by:

  1. Having events to promote gender diversity in technology.
  2. Help current students come together at these events to provide a network of support and recognition of equality, diversity & inclusion in technology courses.
  3. Reaching out to primary and secondary schools to promote and normalize gender diversity in technology. The type of events and initiatives include online design challenge event, coding event, speaker events, coffee mornings, promoting EDI in technology on social media platforms, e.g Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

You can join the WITU LinkedIn group to hear about events and other items of interest and follow us on Instagram and Twitter. Open to everyone!
