David was appointed as the inaugural President of TU Dublin in January 2019.
He worked for many years in the orthopaedic industry in Ireland and the UK, becoming Senior Development Manager for knee, upper limb, trauma and spinal product lines at DePuy International in 1996.
He held a number of academic management roles in University College Dublin from 1998 to 2018, including Head of School, Vice Principal for Internationalisation & Development and, contemporaneously, Dean of Engineering & Principal. David was appointed as Provost (Chief Academic Officer) of the Beijing-Dublin International College in October 2012.
David lives in Dublin with his wife and family and enjoys walking his dog and sailing in his spare time.
