Leaving Certificate Music
This one-year course is designed for 6th year students studying for the Leaving Certificate Music examinations at school. Applicants should normally have reached a minimum of Intermediate Level 2 Musicianship (within the Conservatoire) or Grade 4 Music Theory (ABRSM standard) or a ‘Merit’ grade or higher in Junior Cycle Music.
Junior Conservatoire instrumental/vocal students are given priority enrolment; a small number of places may be available to external applicants.
This course prepares students for the listening and composing components of the Leaving Certificate syllabus. The performing requirements are catered for in the students' Practical Lessons.
