Dr. Colin Hughes is Head of the Graduate Business School at TU Dublin, where he has spent the best part of 20 years in various lecturing, programme management and leadership roles. Prior to taking up his current position, Colin held various roles including: Head of Accreditation, Assistant Head of both the Retail and Marketing Schools, MBA Programme Manager and Executive Education Programme Manager. Before joining TU Dublin Colin worked for Irish Life as a Personal Finance Planner.
Colin is firmly committed to providing an engaging and applied business education to TU Dublin students and external partners. Along with numerous other engagement initiatives, he has designed and managed high-level executive education programmes for leading Irish and International clients including Oracle, Microsoft, Intel, Arvato, Ibec, Enterprise Ireland, Bord Bia and Musgrave.
Colin’s research focuses on trust, leadership and remote working. He has published numerous book chapters, blogs and articles and regularly delivers seminars and workshops for leading organisations and industry bodies such as Intel, IBM, Aer Lingus, Great Place to Work, IPA, AKAM and the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning.
Colin holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham (Trust and Leadership in Virtual teams) along with an MPhil (Training and Development in Financial Services), PgDiploma Third Level Learning and Teaching and BSc. Marketing from DIT/ TU Dublin and is PRINCE2 qualified.
Colin is a non-executive director with NCBI Retail and LIA.
