Product Design Christmas Showcase, 11 December

On Wednesday, 11 December, Product Design students will host a Christmas Showcase in Bolton Street where students will demonstrate their creative solutions for a range of complex human problems.

If an Engineer is tasked with making sure an item works, a Product Designer's role is to make sure that the item works for the people it is intended to serve.

Bolton Trust Presentations

Michael O’Donnell Theatre (Room 259, Bolton Street Campus) at 2 pm

Year 3 students have worked in teams to develop a product concept and business plan for the Bolton Trust Student Enterprise Competition. In this competition, TU Dublin provides its students with the opportunity to win a range of cash prizes in the biggest 3rd level institute enterprise competition in the country. The primary objective of the competition is to foster a spirit of entrepreneurship among TU Dublin students and to encourage and support a rigorous business planning approach to entrepreneurial activities. 

Design for Community, Resilience in Zambia

Year 4 students have worked in teams to design creative solutions to real-world humanitarian challenges. This has been done in association with the “Where there is no Engineer” competition run by Engineers Without Borders and the Development Technology Research Group. The brief this year is centred on designing for community resilience in Zambia.

Refreshments, Prizegiving and Showcase

Bolton Street Concourse ((Hall as you enter the building from Bolton Street) at 3.45 pm

Various work from the programme will be exhibited and prizes will be awarded for the best coursework.
