TU Dublin's Grangegorman Campus was lit up in purple on Tuesday to mark the UN’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities. #PurpleLightUp is a global movement designed to draw attention to the economic empowerment of disabled people.

In celebration of this important day, the TU Dublin Ability Network also launched a new Inclusive Language Guide which is designed to nurture diversity and inclusion at the University. The event was opened by Professor Yvonne Galligan, Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) who was followed by Catherine Lynch, Head of Access and Civic Engagement in TU Dublin, City Centre. The event concluded with Sarah Anne Kennedy, College Librarian, who spoke about the library's new Disability Library Collection which is funded by the EDI Directorate.
