Facilities & Equipment for Research

TU Dublin,Tallaght has a suite of Audio-visual, biology, chemistry, computing, engineering and innovation laboratory spaces for collaborative research, prototyping and proof of concept, technology transfer, and process optimisation to suit the needs of industry. In addition, we have a pilot plant available to industry for bioprocessing and formulation services, and a suite of manufacturing facilities to facilitate product design and the generation of prototypes.

Researchers from any academic organisation or company can take advantage of our facilities and specialist equipment. These can be booked for specific  project or product testing requirements that clients may have, and also we are happy to oblige companies and others in providing a service to solve problems   or develop prototypes, methods or technologies through the many Centres of Excellence located on campus. 

Laboratory Facilities:

Specialist Equipment & Analytical Service Provision:     
Our research facilities are equipped with specialist equipment that can be booked for sample testing and method development projects. Click here for complete listing. We have a keen interest in analytical science service provision and close to market, and commercial R&D services to help diagnose or solve problems industrial clients may have. 

Industrial Laboratory & Plant Facilities:
The Campus has a 3000 sq ft Technology Development & Transfer Laboratory which houses a 2L Chemical Reactor, Prep HPLC system, 10L 1 Pot Granulator  / Dryer, Fluid Bed Dryer (Glatt), Homogeniser, Tablet Press, Powder Testing Equipment – e.g. Particle Size, Dissolution, Hardness, Friability,  Disintegration, sievers. It also has sophisticated analytical laboratories with two SEM instruments, a 300 MHz and 500 MHz multi-nuclear NMR systems (can  do solid state as well), GC, LC, GC-MS, LC-MS, NIR, Raman, UV-VIS, Fluorescence, CE etc.
