Study
All of the courses in the School of Food Science and Environmental Health are based in the state of the art building in the Central Quad, Grangegorman.
All courses have access to the newly designed, purpose-built laboratory facilities and equipment the new campus has to offer. The School has Food chemistry labs, food microbiology labs, food sensory lab, food processing hall, clean room facility, fermentation lab, instrumentation lab and project labs.
The building is equipped with large lecture theatres, smaller class rooms and tutorial rooms and informal learning spaces.
Students will also be supported through our virtual learning environment, BrightSpace and may avail of E-learning supports.

Students graduating from the level 6 programmes, TU645 and TU654 who achieve high grades are eligible to apply for advanced entry to the level 8 honours degrees courses through the University advanced entry process.

The School of Food Science and Environmental Health has two very successful, long-established MSc programmes producing graduates for the relevant sectors for over twenty years.
MSc Food Safety Management
This interdisciplinary, skills-based MSc Programme, focuses on the complex, national and EU regulatory and management systems in place to ensure Food Safety and consumer protection, and reviews the many proposed future changes in Food Regulation. Many national and international food industry managers study on this level 9, MSc course that is offered part-time or full-time.

MSc Environmental Health and Safety
MSc Health, Safety and Human Factors
This MSc course is delivered in two streams; the Environmental Health & Safety stream, established in 1999; and the Health Safety and Human Factors stream introduced in 2019. The course enjoys a widespread academic and professional reputation. It is also accredited by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) while the Human Factors stream gives access to full membership for the Irish Human Factors Ergonomics Society.
