Civil Engineering student at TU Dublin, Fionn Maher, and his family from Co Laois have taken on the challenge of Ireland’s Fittest Families, showing on our screens on RTE One Sunday evenings at 6.30 pm.
The competition begins with 15 families, all of whom will be put through extreme endurance challenges in new locations around the country, from steep sand dunes to airports to Irish bogs and the sheer gradient of Kilternan's 180-metre ski slope.
In Sunday’s episode the Mahers from Laois and their coach Anna Geary, take on the McArdles from Co. Down, Ui Bhraonain's from Co Carlow, the O’Driscolls from Dublin, Prendergast's from Limerick and the McSharry's from Co Sligo.
Each episode saw two families eliminated from the competition. With the coaches facing each other off in the eliminators, all coaches are at risk of ending up with just one family as they head into the Quarter Finals.
The Mahers from Laois
Fionn, who is a third-year Civil Engineering student in the School of Civil & Structural Engineering, is joined by his dad Nick and sisters Maebh and Cara.
We wish him and his family the best of luck!
