Current research - Radiobiology

Our Health Research Board (HRB) funded research was featured in the latest edition of the annual HRB Health Research in Action publication.

Our project aimed to develop a blood test to predict which prostate cancer patients might suffer severe side effects following radiotherapy.

We collaborated with Prof Chris Talbot, University of Leicester and Prof Francois Paris, Nantes Universté and we used both vibrational spectroscopy (Raman and Infrared) and lipidomics to look for molecular signatures in plasma samples collected from patients before radiotherapy.
