The Environmental Sustainability and Health Institute (ESHI) is a dedicated national translational research platform. ESHI is uniquely based on collaboration between Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin), the Health Service Executive (HSE), Dublin City Council (DCC), and the University of Ulster (UU) building national and regional capacity and capability.
ESHI is uniquely positioned to facilitate an interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral approach, integrating academic research with the knowledge and expertise of relevant professionals to generate collective responses to public health issues. Building upon existing education and research expertise, in addition to collaborations and strategic partnerships with multi-sector stakeholders, researchers at ESHI develop evidence-based interventions addressing environmental health problems.
ESHI Governance
The governance of ESHI is overseen by
- An Advisory Board selected by the Directorate of Research Innovation and Enterprise that represents the different stakeholders in ESHI together with relevant TU Dublin participation.
- The ESHI Scientific Advisory Board, composed of leading academics in science, engineering, and policy, health service representatives, and industry experts.
- The ESHI leadership team composed of representatives of the different research area groups in ESHI and chaired by the ESHI academic leader.
