hands on top of each other

Are you new to TU Dublin and want to start working on your research but not sure where to start?

First talk to your line manager / Head of School / mentor / College Head of Research. They will help you to discover local supports that are available to you.

Quick guide to getting started:

  • Explore Research Professional for funding opportunities;
  • Contact the RSDU to add you to the Research Information System where you will register your proposals and request support when writing applications;
  • If you are planning to make applications, have a chat with one of the Pre-Award team  or email research@tudublin.ie . They will guide you through the application process/ platforms for Irish/ EU funding agencies.
  • If you are more interested in Enterprise Ireland funding opportunities for technology development or working on short projects with industry clients email  hothouse@tudublin.ie
  • Make sure your ORCID is updated to change affiliation;
  • Attend as many research webinars and workshops as you can - these are advertised through all staff emails;
  • Talk to your College Head of Research to find out more about supervising PhD students and getting published.
