Host Family Accommodation

Thank you for considering hosting a TU Dublin Student. Our students study on campuses in Grangegorman, Aungier Street, Bolton Street, Blanchardstown Campus and Tallaght Campus.

Accommodation

Host Families provide accommodation from September to June, from 5 to 7 nights per week, with one of the following options -

  • Bed and light Breakfast;
  • Bed Breakfast and Evening Meal;
  • Self-Catering

In some cases, students may only need 3-nights’ accommodation.

Cost per Week

Average weekly charge ranges from €155 to €220 per week depending on the services provided.

Please note: International students require 7 days accommodation for a full academic year, September to June.

The annual exemption limit for Rent-a-Room Relief income is €14,000. Any amount under this figure is exempt from tax.

*International students live with the host family on a full-time basis

Register as a Host Family

If you would like to host a student, log on to our self-service accommodation portal and register as a Landlord on www.tudublinstudentpad.ie/landlords

Once registered, you can create your advert and upload the photos of the accommodation. The step-by-step registration process will take you through account setup and placing your ad on the site.

Accommodation Agreement

The University is not a regulatory body and does not vet properties, landlords or homeowners. Any lease or letting agreement is between the student and the provider only. We suggest that you ask for a deposit of two weeks and that rent is payable on a weekly basis. A sample of an Accommodation Agreement is available-
