In the ever increasingly competitive business environment, a demand has arisen for innovation and uniqueness which has served to create a demand for business enterprise development. In exploring the basis of entrepreneurial activity, the module introduces and examines the theory and practice of business skills essential in identifying and responding to new venture creation opportunities for the broader food and beverage industry including culinary arts, entrepreneurship, baking and pastry arts.
This module aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge to design and implement enterprise development strategies aligned with key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Students will learn to develop sustainable business plans and initiatives that drive innovation, create equitable economic opportunities and support the growth and development of communities. The module aims to achieve the UN's Sustainable Development Goals 8, 9, 10.
Applicants should hold:
- A Leaving Certificate with minimum grades in Maths O6/H7; English O6/H7 or Irish O6/H7

- A full QQI Level 5 or 6 award
