It is the aim of this module to provide an introduction to the rights and obligations the law confers and imposes on persons engaged in the building process. A further aim, is to provide a relevant understanding of contractual components, legal doctrines applicable to contracts and legal remedies. Additionally, students will be required to develop an awareness of tortious liability in relation to general negligence principles and strict liability issues Finally, students will consolidate knowledge in relation to Health and Safety provisions relevant to their respective industry.
