The new Information Architecture (IA) represented in this prototype was developed in Summer 2026 by Web & Digital with the support of an external professional agency.

The consultants ran extensive research to understand:

• How current users interact with the tudublin.ie website.
• How other universities have shaped their websites' Information Architecture (eleven competitors were considered).
• User feedback gathered previously by Web & Digital by means of surveys and interviews.

The research was complemented by the agency's experience with current best practices in terms of IA design, and led to a prototype which was validated and refined through user testing, involving over one hundred external users. The new IA is intended to make it easier to navigate the tudublin.ie website and to establish connections with external users.

The prototype is to be presented to the staff members who are editors on the tudublin.ie website (representing their business units) so that stakeholders will have a chance to provide feedback before the new IA is implemented.
