On the annual occasion of International Vasculitis Day, medical professionals, patients, and advocates from around the globe congregated with a shared objective—to dispel myths surrounding vasculitis and empower individuals with knowledge for effective condition management. The day served as a platform for raising awareness, promoting understanding, and fostering a supportive community for those impacted by this complex group of diseases.
Expert speakers, renowned researchers, and healthcare providers took center stage with a ‘Question Time Webinar’ as part of the European Reference Network that aims at improving the care of patients with Rare Immunological Disorders (ERN RITA), addressing misconceptions that have often shrouded vasculitis. Dr. Margaret Dunne, of the School of Chemical & BioPharmaceutical Sciences, acted as the facilitator for the online event. With empathy and clarity, the panel sought to dismantle the walls of confusion and fear, replacing them with a solid foundation of accurate information.
