European Association for Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA) Conference 2024

Published: 29 Apr, 2024

The European Association for Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA) held their annual conference in Odense, Denmark in the week of the 21st. Opening the 2024 conference was TU Dublin's Head of Research, Dr John Donovan, Dr John Donovan, who is also a member of the Research Committee, EUt+ and chairperson of the Conference Programme Committee.

The conference has grown steadily since 2010 when 127 participants spent a single day in the Faculty of Law at the University of Ljubljana to last week's 1,500 participants and more than 70 hours of programming.

TU Dublin is an Institutional Member of EARMA and has been very active in the Association for many years. John has been the chairperson for 2 terms, served on the Board for 7 years and is a trainer on both the Early Stage RMA course and on the EARMA Leadership programme.

Several other TU Dublin colleagues are also active in the standing committees and thematic groups of the Association.

RMA itself has moved on from the 'just another admin function' to where it is a very broad profession encompassing a range of highly qualified and experienced professionals including libraries, financiers, project & programme managers, infrastructure and facility managers, technology and knowledge specialists, impact and engagement activities, ethics, EDI, and RRI to name just a few. EARMA is the broadest networking opportunity for RMAs in Europe.
