Radio Documentary Production

This course will introduce and engage students to the creative opportunities and challenges in the study and production of the radio/audio documentary and in developing a built studio show suitable for an online platform.  It is taught through a series of hands-on workshops and classes exploring the theory and practice of creative sound production and digital storytelling. Students will be taught the technical and professional skills required to research, pitch and produce sound documentaries and studio programmes for online and radio platforms. Emphasis will be on the acquisition of high end editing and mixing skills. Some of the skills learnt will be transferrable and applicable to other media platforms.

The module will be delivered through a combination of seminars, workshops, practical exercises and  listening sessions. During completion of the project, students will benefit from one to one tutorials.
