To introduce students to Location Video Production, providing a foundation knowledge of core skills to develop a set of competencies; technically, artistically and editorially, and instil an appreciation of the form. Students may select to specialise in either camera or editing techniques. Students may opt to follow a theory strand in lieu of the practical project/ exercise.
Production training
Understand the key concepts of location material acquisition, continuity and editing principles.
Location pre-production
Undertake the development of a location based project to a set brief.
Location recording.
Able to use a camera, sound and lighting equipment on location.
Post-production editing.
To be able to operate a non-linear edit suite and have a working knowledge of video editing concepts.
