In this module students will be introduced to the proficiencies required for practice, codes of personal and professional conduct and ethics related to biomedical science and develop key scientific communication skills including academic writing, study skills and presentations. In addition the module will introduce students to the concept of point of care, in-vitro and molecular diagnostics. The student will also be introduced to key market players in this area and the trends in these market sectors. As part of the 'students learning with communities' section of the module, students will design, develop and deliver interactive scientific educational demonstrations which can be safely demonstrated to children.
