Professional Placement

Part A (Semester 1)

  • Introduction to professional placements -including the process of finding a suitable placement, preparing a professional CV and Cover Letter
  • Preparing for internship and placement interviews - making an application for internship and placement opportunities, developing good interview skills and interview preparation techniques

 

Part B (Semester 2)

  • Developing professional conduct in the workplace (including meeting skills, record keeping, time management, prioritisation)
  • Introduction to the basis of reflective practice (theoretical underpinnings, frameworks for reflective practice, e.g., Atkins and Murphy’s model, Gibb’s reflective cycle)
  • Professional placement in a relevant industrial, research or commercial facility
  • Placement Presentation and consolidation of placement
