Information Management

This module is designed to develop an appreciation of the importance of information systems within the business environment and to develop students practical skills in the areas of system development and academic research. The key module aims are to : - To provide a broad understanding of the importance of Information Management Systems to modern organisations - To develop the learner’s analytical skills in the development and design of solutions to business IT problems - To provide learners with the skills to plan, design and develop IT solutions using advanced spreadsheet techniques - To develop the learner’s ability to develop a minor IT research project using specified referencing techniques and style guides

Advanced Word Processing

Introduction to the Departmental Written Submission standard. Introduction to academic writing, using the Departmental Referencing Guide, basic research techniques, paraphrasing, avoiding plagiarism, referencing.
