This module is designed for students who have studied the language to Leaving Certificate or equivalent. It aims to revise and consolidate the four language skills acquired at second level, to introduce the language of business and to broaden learners’ knowledge of Germany and the German-speaking countries.

Understanding and using phrases and sentences related to a range of personal and professional situations.
Ongoing: the development of reading and writing skills
Reading and finding information in texts dealing with everyday material such as advertisements, prospectuses, menus, timetables and short, personal letters. Writing simple interconnected texts on everyday aspects of the student’s environment.

Topic 4: Life in contemporary German-speaking countries
• Interactive hour with a focus on the target culture• Physical and political geography• Cities
