The aim of this module is to: Build on the learners knowledge of software development, algorithms and data structures to:Introduce the learner in a practical way to the main research areas in that part of computer science concerned with the processing of human language through the use of computer technology - the field of Applied Human Language Technology.Concentrate on the practical application of data structures and algorithmic techniques in solving complex language problems in computer software.Provide learners with the ability to apply and build parsers of language in computer software.Design, build and incorporate speech recognition and text-to-speech synthesis in computer software.Apply language-engineering techniques and build software solutions in the areas of Internet development, language development, machine translation, and human computer interfaces.
