Module Overview

The final year project is divided into two parts, which aim to provide learners with an opportunity to undertake a substantial, individual computer science project and take responsibility for a full project life cycle. The project will enable learners to consolidate and further their chosen area of study and integrate knowledge and skills acquired from other modules that are part of this programme. Specifically the aim of part 1 of this project is to: - identify a project area for further study - develop the learners ability to generate ideas and concepts within the chosen project area - develop the learners research skills - develop the learners project management skills by adhering to industry standard practises - develop the learners ability to make design and implementation decisions with regard to scope, technical feasibility, usability and accessibility - require learners to undertake project planning, monitoring and reporting activities, to ensure the progress of the project against milestones is regularly reviewed
