Module Overview

Drama, Movement and Play

The purpose of this module is to introduce students to the concepts of drama and movement in the context of early childhood education and care. The aims of this module are twofold: it is designed to provide an introduction to the theoretical underpinnings of the role of drama and movement, with particular emphasis on play. Students will discover how young children learn and make sense of the world around them through their play. It is also intended to offer students the opportunity to engage in a process of experiential learning, sampling play based drama and movement activities, thus enhancing their practical skills.
