Module Overview

Labour Economics

The key objective is to provide students with an understanding of the workings of a labour market.  Students will have an awareness of the roles of firms, workers and the government in wage determination.  This course should also enable students to have a greater understanding of publications in labour economics.  Key themes will be developed with the aid of labour market models, while use will also be made of relevant research literature in the field.  Students should acquire an understanding of some of the research skills involved in labour market research to facilitate future potential research and employment.
