Digital signals

analogue to digital conversion, bit rate, symbol rate, comparison of digital and analogue signals

Transmission techniques and impairments

Types of transmission, Synchronous and Asynchronous communications. Attenuation, noise and distortion during transmission, multiplexing

Transmission media

Types of transmission media, transmission lines and their characteristics, termination of transmission lines
