This module continues the learner’s practical project skills begun in Project 1. It will bring together in a systematic way the knowledge that the learner is absorbing throughout the year. The learner will be have been given a project outline and assigned a supervisor. Projects will be of a computer engineering/electronics nature involving hardware and/or software. The learner will be expected to complete the project to a high standard both in electronic skills and documentation. In Project 2 the student will be expected to thoroughly implement the detailed project plan developed in Project 1.
Project types
Typical projects will include:• Design, build and program an interface board.• Design, document, implement and test a device driver• Commission an embedded system for some appropriate application.• Simulate some aspect of a computer architecture
The module comprises laboratory activities and student self-directed learning.
