Law and the small business

The legal framework for self-employment and small business in Ireland; the requirements to register with Revenue, Companies Registration Office, etc.; record-keeping obligations

Business idea generation and evaluation

Examining a range of business ideas; choosing an idea to develop; evaluating the market potential; examining the resources required to establish the business - capital, labour, premises, machinery, materials, etc.

Business planning

Researching and preparing a business plan

Finance

Forecasting capital demands, cashflow planning, accessing various sources of capital, maintaining financial records
