Applied Industry Project / Placement

The purpose of this module is to provide the learner with practical experience of undertaking a relevant digital marketing project from concept to completion. The module will integrate the academic content and practical skills acquired throughout the programme. The learner may have the opportunity to work with an external company or with the Institute to develop their interpersonal and communication skills.

Project Definition

The objective of the placement/project is to enable the learner to produce and demonstrate an individual and unique piece of work that incorporates the key aspects of the programme. Tasks will focus on digital marketing. Real world organisations and real world scenarios will provide the tasks. Learners will have the opportunity to develop and enhance many skills by successfully completing the task e.g. project management, problem solving, client liaison, presentation skills, creativity.

Project Process

Placements will be overseen by an external manager and an internal supervisor.Projects will be overseen by lecturers/managers. Typically they go through a process of analysis of the task, idea generation and elaboration; scope definition. Each student must prepare and submit an individual project plan which must be agreed and signed off by their supervisors. Project deliverables typically include Detailed Project Proposal, Project Plan, Literature Review/Overview of Problem, Conducting and Analysis of Research, Findings, Final Report and Project Presentation.
