This module encompasses the basic framework of skills and knowledge necessary for success in legal study. It provides an overview of the historical development and operation of the Irish legal system, the sources of law which now apply within that system and the applicable principles of interpretation. Students will learn how to find, read and understand the law (case-law and legislation) as well as how to construct legal arguments and present them both orally and in writing.
