This module covers vectors, matrices and the Binomial, Poisson and Normal probability distributions.

Vectors in 2 and 3 dimensions: basis vectors, vector sum, scalar and vector products, scalar and vector triple products, applications
Matrix algebra, determinants, eigenvectors, the cofactor matrix method for inverting a matrix, solving systems of linear equations, the matrix of a linear transformation.
Binomial, Poisson and Normal probability distributions and their applications.
Instruction will consist of lectures and supporting tutorials each week. The emphasis of course delivery will be ‘hands-on’ problem solving.
