This module builds on the fundamental mathematics introduced in second year mathematics and introduces new topics including numerical methods

Further techniques in Integral calculus. Substitution techniques, Integration of logarithmic functions, Integration by Parts, completing the square, partial fractions. 
 
Ordinary Differential Equations. Analytical solution of first order linear differential equations using an integrating factor. Solution of non-homogeneous second order linear equations with constant coefficients. 
 
Review of linear algebra. Consistency of equations. Solving systems of linear equations using Gaussian elimination. Solution of equations using Gauss-Seidel iteration. 
 
Laplace transforms. Inverse Laplace transforms. Solution of first and second order linear differential equations using Laplace transforms.
