Module Overview

Project

The aim of this module is to develop a learner’s ability to successfully complete an engineering project with significant technical and intellectual challenges. The project enables the learner to integrate previously gained skills and knowledge in a project. It also develops in the learner the confidence to apply their engineering skills to a complex problem without a fixed solution. The module provides the learner with the experience of taking ‘ownership’ of a project.

Typically, the project undertaken by the learner is one of the following types:

  1. Investigation and analysis
  2. Design and development
  3. Feasibility study
  4. Software design and development
  5. Process development and improvement
