Module Overview

Production Audio

This optional module is aimed at third year Film and Broadcasting students who are actively involved in the production of video work, both narrative and documentary, as part of their wider programme. It is expected that they will already have taken audio related modules in previous years. this module therefore, presumes a good grounding in audio editing software and some familiarity with video editing software, video camera work and the general workflow of filmmaking.

The module is specifically aimed at those students who wish to specialise in the field of sound for film production. it aims to equip those students with the background and practical experience to work to a high standard on the audio aspects of film production projects during the latter years of their BA programme and in industry subsequently. The module is lab-based and will therefore have a practical leaning that will act as an effective preparation for students in a subsequent career in audio.
