Management skills; planning, organisation, decising making, communication,meeting skills, work teams and groups, conflict and negotiation. Benchmarking.
Management of Organisation
Organisation structure; Organisational design and structure, job and design of work, organisational culture, challenges for managers and managing change.
Regulation and Standards
EU legislation; Directives, EMC,WEEE,LVD, Rohs. Regulatory bodies; ITU,ETSI,Comreg, NSAI.
Business Formation
Business start-up; feasibility study, business plans, innovation processes and intellectual property.
Business legal matters
Contracts; employment, business contracts. Legal responsibilities of managers; ethical conduct of work and respect for intellectual property.
Management of finance.
Financial accounts; Profit and loss accounts, Balance sheets, interpretation of management accounts and ratio analysis. Introduction to basic principles of income tax and company tax. The budgeting process: project investment and appraisal techniques.
