Primary Eyecare Clinic 2

This module continues clinical training in optometry, with patient examinations conducted under supervision in the TU Dublin Optometry Clinic. Student optometrists will develop skills in conducting problem-specific eye examinations in the primary care setting, and develop treatment and management plans for patients under their care. Management, communication, clinical investigations for monitoring of patients and referral refinement will occur. The aim of this module is to further develop clinical experience in optometric practice in a primary health care setting while adhering to the CORU Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics for Optometrists.

Clinical practice in the TU Dublin Optometry Clinic under supervision by qualified registered optometrists. Tutorial support will be given in case management and clinical problem solving, differential diagnosis, and current and developing concepts in clinical management.
