Portfolio Development

The Portfolio Development module is designed to further prepare students for the transition from undergraduate to graduate placement and/or the work environment. The emphasis is on creating and managing multiple platforms for showcasing students’ creative work and achievements both online and offline. Students will learn to recognise strengths and weaknesses in their work. The final e-portfolio will demonstrate professional presentation techniques that display an aggregation of students' creative work that showcases their achievements, expertise and mastery of skills and content. It will support a positive digital identity and personal online branding.

Digital Media Management

Introduction to eportfolios for professional growth; critique and comparisons of different styles and tools; consideration of audience;identification of creative work; development of personal graphic identity; optimising and compression for multiple platforms.

E-Portfolio for personal and professional purposes

E-portfolios and personal reflection; creating a learner centred and career focused portfolio; the use of blogs as online reflective journals; the writing of personal biographies; critique and self-assessment.

Exhibition Planning

Issues around effective event management; delegation, project selection, role of Event Manager, subcommittee work, costs, facilities, timescales, guests, hospitality etc. Funding applications. Media management, sponsorship and promotion including social media strategy. All planning and preproduction for the annual student showcase of work for public exhibition.

Professional Media Content Development

Writing industry standard scripts and treatments for a variety of media platforms. Brand storytelling, and applications.
