A range of experiments will available during this module.
In general, students will have to demonstrate an acceptable level of ability in the following core competencies;
- CRO Measure amplitude, period and frequency. Adjust triggering level and channel
- DMM Use DMM to correctly measure voltage, current and frequency
- Circuit construction. Construct circuits using resistors, capacitors, diodes and transistors using protoboards.
- Data recording. Keep a lab diary with accurately recorded data
- Analysis. Plot linear and log graphs and determine slope and intercept. Determine uncertainties on slope and intercept. Correctly record and propagate uncertainties
- Report writing. Produce a professional report on selected experiments
