Personal Effectiveness Competencies

Interpersonal skills: interacting and working with others, sensitivity/empathy, insight into behavior, open communications. Integrity: behaving in an ethical manner. Initiative: taking initiative, persistance, working independently. Reliability: punctuality, meeting obligations, attendance to detail. Lifelong Learning: demonstration of interest in learning, participate in training and development opportunities.

Workplace Competencies

Business fundamentals: company business model, business model as a framework for decision making, ethics, social awareness, market knowledge, customer focus. Teamworking: acknowledging team membership and role, establish productive reationships, resolving conflicts. Creative thinking and problem solving: problem identification, generation and implementation of solutions. Working with tools and technology: selection and application of approppriate tools and technology, maintenance of tools and technology. Checking, examining and recording: Obtaining data, detecting errors, completing forms, maintaining records. Health and Safety: maintaining a safe working area, personal safety, completion of required health and safety training. Sustainability: minimising environmental impact, complying with standards, laws and regulations.

General Technical Competencies

Design lifecycle: system design, development testing and costing, technical drawings and schematics, research and development fundamentals. Commissioning and testing: loop checks, calibration, verification, record keeping, data analysis and verification. Operations management: industrial production and process basics, production and process monitoring, industry wide standards, project management and execution. Maintenance, installation and repair: general electrical, mechanical and instrumentation skills, maintenance, installation and repair of industrial instrumentation and automation systems, reliability and maintainability. Production in the supply chain: material handling, scheduling and planning, executing operations, managing inventory, supply chain management, work flow. Quality assurance: corrective and preventative actions, improving quality, quality assurance standards and procedures, statistical process control methods. Process and equipment health, safety and the environment: health, safety and environmental regulations and assessments, safety procedures.
