The Professional Development module is designed to help students position themselves for future employability in their chosen field. The module aims to encourage increased self awareness, critical reflection, an understanding of the needs of industry and employers and the oral and writing competencies required in various professional contexts.

Sectoral survey, career options within the digital media industry; potential opportunities for digitally literate graduates across the employment spectrum; emerging platforms; new consumer products; innovative services; future trends and growth potential. Voluntary opportunities, civic engagement and internships.
Employment Interviews and documentation
Writing a cover letter; designing an effective CV; Interview preparation and behavioural norms; personal statements and biographies; postgraduate applications.
Professional Presentation Skills
Preparing and delivering effective professional presentations in the media industry; connecting with your audience; voice and body language; working with visual aids; presenting data; pitching creative ideas.
Professional Development Plan
Reflection and self analysis; skills assessment and gap analysis; goal development and career directions and planning
Professional Media Content Development
Writing industry standard scripts and treatments for a variety of media platforms. Brand storytelling, and applications.
