The purpose of this module is to provide students with the opportunity to build on, and apply, learning from the programme to a real-life context as well as create opportunities for situated experience based learning. This work-based learning will take place in an agreed industry context and students will be required to demonstrate learning through experiences, observation, self-evaluation and reflection.
Professional Placement
Students will have face to face workshops preparing them for their placement. Workshops will guide them through the placement process and cover topics such as reflective practice and writing, ethics and confidentiality, dealing with potential issues etc. While on placement, students will engage in self-directed, experiential leanring and will be required to seek learning opportunities that will allow them to experience the learning of their modules in practice, test their professional skills and reflect on themselves in practice.
