Radio Programming

The advancement of the planning process, scheduling, submission process and production relating to professional practice in the radio industry, to whit documentary, news content and broadcast scheduling. To further develop the student to be able to function effectively autonomously in a self directed project and in a team by leading a group or by active contribution.

Documentaries

The planning process, submission guidelines, production and critique of the documentary and feature formats. The concepts behind and creation of same, from planning, research, design and production.

News

Research, prepare and verification of local, national and international stories relevant to the target audience. Source, script and deliver contemporaneous news content with the inclusion of sound reportage.

Radio Station Scheduling

Examine and critique existing radio station schedules, the design and preparation of programme schedules appropriate to specified station identity, target audience and format. The rationale and execution of running a radio station incorporating the partial licence submission process with relevant bodies, programme evaluation, programme choice, scheduling and promotion.
