Module Overview

Community Response to Drug Use

The module aims to provide students with an ability to evaluate the different types of evidence-based effective addiction treatment and rehabilitation models, endorsed by the current Irish Alcohol and Drugs Strategy . Students will both analyse and apply the theoretical models which underpin such therapeutic approaches. Following visits to several recovery centres, students will be able to critically analyse the range of their interventions aimed at helping those affected by behavioural and substance-based addictions.
